The Overlooked Abused

Rusted bits and pieces
Fall to the ground as the antique pick-up truck trudges down the avenue
Bangs, and creaks and all sorts of squeaks emit from the laboring engine
While the owner,
Oblivious to everything except his favorite song on the radio
Gently slams the brakes
Causing the car to scream in protest of the abuse it receives on a daily basis
Finally, at the battered and beaten truck sighs it’s last cacophonous symphony of crashes, wails, and crunches
It collapses in the middle of the narrow avenue
Only to be revived again by a simple turn of a key and blow to the steering wheel.
